Hannah Saunders is a South African artist currently based in Bath, United Kingdom. Having moved to the UK during her teenage years, she draws inspiration from her extensive travels across Europe, Southern Africa, South-East Asia, and India. Her work is a reflection of her belief that our relationship with ourselves is crucial and requires constant nourishment, as we take ourselves wherever we go.

Saunders’s current artistic focus centres on the vibrancy of the natural world. Her encounters with nature remind her of the interconnectedness of all things, the boundless beauty that surrounds us, and the vastness of existence. She expresses these ideas through her artwork by playing with scale, incorporating strong shapes, and using vibrant colours with tonal contrasts. In an era marked by isolation and loneliness, her work serves as a reminder that, like nature, we are interconnected and expansive beings.

Her main body of work is a culmination of a month-long road trip through Namibia in 2022, where she immersed herself in the unique landscapes and experiences of the region. Through her art, she aims to capture the essence of her journey and share the profound sense of connection and expansiveness she discovered in the natural world.

In October 2025, Saunders will commence her Master of Fine Arts degree, specialising in Printmaking, at the Rome University of Fine Arts.
