Sue Clegg

PRINTMAKER PROFILE

BIOGRAPHY

Sue Clegg is a multidisciplinary artist and educator whose practice is grounded in an exploration of place, memory, and lived experience. Working across a range of processes and materials, she investigates the dialogues that arise between them, generating both representational and more abstracted pieces.

Her current research focuses on the intersections of ceramics, drawing, and printmaking, through which she constructs layered visual narratives.
Drawing often forms the starting point for her work, sketching and recording at different locations primarily within the UK including Cumbria, British coastlines, local woodlands and areas of nature within Leicestershire and Derbyshire.

Sue combines her love of colour, drawing and print along with different approaches to form and decoration, to create pieces that evoke memories and connections.
