The exhibition is open to all artists (over the age of 16), based in the United Kingdom, working purely within the medium of printmaking.
All prints submitted must be original, hand-pulled fine art prints, produced using a recognised printmaking technique on archival papers (hand coloured, mixed-media and/or digital pieces will not be accepted). If you are unsure that your print(s) meet these requirements, please contact us to confirm before submitting your application form.
At present there is no size limit on work submitted. Please note, however, all work must be 2D based.
The (non-refundable) submission fee is £25 per entrant (for up to three prints), which offsets costs incurred for administration, installation and promotional literature for the Derby Print Open.
Applications are accepted incorporating any theme or subject, but works must have been produced after January 2017.
Entrants can submit up to 3 prints. Subject to available space, each entrant will be guaranteed to exhibit at least one of the submitted works provided all other guidelines are adhered to.
If accepted, the original print(s) must be framed (at the expense of the artist) and be delivered to the studio, complete with a label on the reverse stating the artist's name, print title and medium.
All framed work must also be affixed with appropriately sized mirror plates (half-way down the frame on either side). Please note, mirror plates provided must be large enough to support the weight of the frame.
As of 2019, we will also be asking for unframed wrapped originals of framed works accepted. These unframed works will be made available for sale in print browsers. If requested, please ensure these are appropriately wrapped in cellophane (with an acid-free backing board to prevent damage to prints) complete with a label on the reverse stating the artist's name, print title and medium.
All work must be for sale and will be subject to a 30% commission, if sold.
All work must be appropriately signed & editioned by the artist. Please note, we do not require work to part of an edition (monotypes are accepted).
Previously exhibited work is acceptable as long as the above requirements are met.
